Summary of the 2-day course
Attendees to the course would gain an understanding of the theory and practices of experiences and their design within the event context. The goal of the course is to expand participant’s knowledge on the subject of experience creation in events, mapping the current tools and practices and analyzing the cases in depth, both from Finland and Europe. The course would be highly interactive and will provide participants with structured approach to key elements of the experience industry.
First part of the course would include study trip to Helsinki and visit to new, phenomenal event’s hotel Huone, where together with their employees we would be able to look into the current state of the industry.
Second day of the course would be held in Tallinn, where during the workshop we would look into different cases and new tools (such as event model generation canvas).
Participants expected to attend:
Course is designed and intended for supervisors – event owners, event planners, hotel C&B managers and all interested or working in event, hospitality, tourism or travel industry. The outcome will allow participants to return to their work places with new tools which can be immediately applied and tested in practice, as well as expanded network and fresh ideas. Language of instruction is English.

By the end of the course, the participant will:
- Gain understanding of experience creation within events
- Achieve best practices in the development and delivery of successful event
- Understand key elements and processes as well as new trends in the event industry
- Get to learn and use new operational tools - in particular Event Model Generation Canvas
- Learns through the example “HUONE” in Helsinki – expert in creative spaces, event consultation and event entertainment.

Summary and wrap up of the course
Violeta Salonen has a Master’s Degree in Music Arts (Performance in Conducting) from Thames Valley University, London, UK. She is a member of honourable ETD (Eta Sigma Delta) International Hospitality Management Society. She has two Bachelor Degree’s in Music (Theory & Pedagogy and Music Conducting) as well as Bachelor’s degree in Experience and Wellness Management from Haaga-Helia University of Applied Sciences, Helsinki, Finland. Violeta has worked as an event coordinator in Browns, London UK as well as service designer for Meeting Room of Tomorrow project conducted by Haaga-Helia and 14 Finnish based and international companies. She presented the research and paper in FRESH conference held in Copenhagen in 2012. Violeta has acted as an artistic member of the Pop Up Art House creating numerous experience events during the years of 2013-2015. She has also acted as experience consultant for FRESH Conference 2013 held in Copenhagen, Denmark. Currently Violeta is teaching in Haaga-Helia, mainly subjects related to experience creation, design and event management. She is an active speaker on event trends.
